Kid Updates

Natalie and Kaitlyn had their well-child checks last week. I took both girls at the same time, which made for an interesting doctor's appointment. Neither was scheduled for shots, but we were given the option to do Natalie's kindergarten shots now....since I am of the "just get it over with" nature, we went ahead. Poor thing got 4 shots....she did ok with the first two but then the varicella and Dpt really did her in (she screamed like I have never heard before). Kaitlyn just sat in the chair eating her lollypop, not a care in the world...all she cared about was her lollypop...the entire visit she just kept asking for her "ollypop". However, not 5 minutes later Natalie was more concerned about the color of her other lollypop....gotta love the attention span of a 4 year old!

Natalie got a clean bill of health. She did the hearing and vision test perfectly......apparently she can hear just fine....her lack of listening these days is strictly age related. She did however drop off the growth chart...well not quite, she is at the 3rd percentile. After going over how tall the rest of our family is, her doctor thought it would be a good idea to get an xray of her hand. Apparently the radiologist can look at her hand and see how her bone growth compares to other kids her age.

On to the fun stuff. Natalie is the epitome of drama. Her expression, her voice and her attitude scream drama queen. She is one smart cookie and we can't believe the stuff that comes out of her mouth some times. She can spell her name, recite her address and phone number and is starting to write out letters. She loves dress-up, playing beauty shoppe and being read to. Her imagination is insane, coming up with the most amazing stories sometimes. She loves to ride her bicycle (she can really tear around the dining room table) and playing at the park. Her new favorite thing to eat is edemame and pickeled green beans. She would live off chicken, tater tots and edemame if we let her.

She and Kaitlyn share a sisterly love....they get along about 65% of the time, sometimes Natalie has her feelings hurt when Kaitlyn doesn't want to play with her. They can be absolutely adorable when they get along, but oh the screams when the don't!

Now on to Missy KK (as Kevin has named her). Kaitlyn had a perfect checkup (she is shaping up to big the bigger one of the two). She is well ahead of her milestones; speaking in full sentences, knows her first and last name...along with the rest of the family (natalie davis, mama davis and dada davis), walks (practically runs) up and down stairs. She would much rather eat snacks than sit down for a real meal, but will eat most everything you put in front of her. She is obsessed with wearing (and putting on herself) shoes and socks (this is a child that months ago wouldn't leave her socks much less shoes on). She loves to put on Natalie's clothes (over her outfit) and shoes. She is sweet and shows compassion when Natalie gets hurt (it is very cute). She loves Fin-dey and Hannah, until they eat her food that she leaves laying around. Her favorites at the park are the big slide and swings.
